I went to purchase a handgun. There is a federal form to complete, 4473. One item, number 11e, asks: "Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?" This is a Federal form - and the feds consider pot to be a dangerous drug and always illegal.
I was pondering how to the folks with medical marijuana cards respond?
- if they say no, they just lied on the form = 5 years in the pen.
- if they say yes, would they be permitted to own a gun? is that one question a deal breaker?
